•Upcoming Holiday Shows

Express_your_Truth_2014_headerIt’s that time of year- time to get your shopping list together and make some thoughtful purchases for your loved ones.  I have two upcoming shows that will provide great opportunities to find unique and special gifts perfect for the art lover on your list.

The Wellesley Marketplace

Sat. November 22nd from 10am-4pm, (come at 9am for an hour of priority shopping), Wellesley Middle School- 50 Kingsbury St.

 Wellesley Square ArtWalk

Dec. 6th and 7th.  Held in conjunction with the Wellesley Holiday Stroll, Wellesley artists will team up with local businesses and talented high school students to infuse art into many of the stores in Wellesley Square.  Last year I was paired with the real estate offices of Benoit Mizner Simon, and this year I will be at a brand new gorgeous home decor store named Florijn.  Click here to see what happened last year- https://carolynmackin.wordpress.com/2013/12/15/%E2%80%A2wellesley-square-artwalk/

nest, Dedham, MA

Although my show at nest wrapped up at the end of October, I still have 3 small pieces that are there as part of their small works show held through the end of December.  If you missed my show, here is another chance to see a few of my originals, as well as some work by many other artists.  Remember, small works mean you get a unique piece at and affordable price!

Finally, if you are not local, feel free to check out my work online here and contact me directly to make a purchase.  I promise to make the experience easy and enjoyable.  And soon I will have e-commerce on my site!

So please come out and support local artists!!!

•New work with Spirit

Last year I created a small painting called ‘Radiant Grace’.  It was a special painting for a few reasons.  First, the process of creating it was easy, quick, and I felt as though the painting literally flowed out through me.  Secondly, it was a deviation from most of what I had done before.  The lines were were more fluid and curvy, the palette was softer, and I played with adding oil pastels on top of the acrylic paint for the first time.  Thirdly, I had several offers to purchase it, and many more people who wanted one just like it.

True Contentment, 2014, Original acrylic painting on canvas, 48” x 36”, sold.

True Contentment, 2014, Original acrylic painting on canvas, 48” x 36”, sold.

Because of the intuitive manner in which I paint, I can never really duplicate ‘Radiant Grace’ again, but I have now painted many more versions of it.  The large above piece was recently commissioned, and is now hangs in a beautiful home.

For me, the white dots are symbolic of light from heaven, showering down on us all.

Cosmic Play, 2014, Original acrylic painting on wood, 16 x 16”, $385.
